VAF Instruments winner of the “Fuel Efficiency Award” at the 2015 Marine Propulsion Awards.June 3, 2015
Mr. Edwin Schuirink, Technical Product Manager from VAF Instruments, proudly received the 2015 Fuel Efficiency Award during The Annual Marine Propulsion & Auxiliary Machinery Conference gala dinner at the Lancaster Hotel in London yesterday evening.
“Winning the Fuel Efficiency Award is recognition that VAF is not only manufacturer of high quality sensors, but is also supplier of extensive knowledge and solutions for fuel efficiency monitoring for the maritime industry” said Edwin Schuirink.
VAF Instruments was nominated by the editors of Marine Propulsion and the advisory panel for the TT-Sense in combination with the PEM4 monitoring system.
The PEM4 is the first maritime solution for measuring propeller thrust, engine power and fuel consumption simultaneously. The PEM4 output will help you to optimize propeller efficiency, vessel trim, propeller pitch and will enable you to monitor hull resistance very accurately.
The TT-Sense is using the latest techniques to contribute to ship power management. The actual thrust measurement is obtained through an extremely accurate optical sensor technology. As a result of this non-contact sensor technology, the TT-Sense thrust and torque measuring system is maintenance free.
VAF Instruments BV was founded in 1938 in Dordrecht, Holland. Over the years the company has developed as manufacturer and solution provider for measuring and monitoring in the maritime industry. Nowadays VAF is the most preferred supplier of the top 100 shipyards and market leader in maritime measurement systems today.
