Preparing for UK ETS Maritime Compliance■
What UK ETS means for maritime operators■
The UK ETS for maritime started 1 July 2026 — and the clock is ticking for compliance
If your vessel (5,000 GT+) operates between UK ports or calls at UK ports of call, you are now required to:
- Monitor greenhouse gas emissions (CO₂, N₂O & CH₄) for every voyage and in-port activity
- Submit a verified annual emissions report by 31 March 2028
- Surrender allowances by 30 April 2028
The challenge? Reliable, verifiable emissions data starts with reliable measurement.
At VAF, we’ve been assisting shipowners and operators tackle exactly this for decades.
Our end-to-end solution covers everything from onboard fuel flow sensors to cloud-based automated reporting through our VAF IVY® platform , already used for EU ETS, EU MRV, CII and IMO DCS reporting.
Extending that to UK ETS? Straightforward.
Whether you need Method B (tank monitoring), Method C (flow meters) or Method D (direct measurement) , VAF has the sensors and the software to back it up with data your verifier can trust.
Don’t let compliance catch you off guard. Talk to VAF today.
