By employing the TT-Sense® for measuring thrust and torque, you gain comprehensive insights into propeller efficiency, vessel trim optimization, and hull resistance. Managing propeller thrust and hull resistance at full scale enable savings up to 20%, and in some cases, even more.

The TT-Sense® is using various techniques to contribute to ship power management. The actual thrust measurement is obtained through an extremely accurate optical sensor technology. As a result of this non-contact sensor technology, the TT-Sense® thrust and torque measuring system is maintenance free.

Thrust measurement offers precise insight into propeller efficiency relative to energy consumption. Operational changes affecting actual thrust, speed, torque, and power are immediately visible on a dedicated (touch) screen. Leveraging this input allows for the optimal utilization of your propulsion installation, leading to a significant reduction in fuel consumption.

With a remarkable reduction in fuel costs, the ROI will be achieved within just a few months. VAF’s shaft power thrust meter can be easily installed on both new builds and existing vessels.

Besides the standard output of a thrust, torque, shaft speed and power signal, the TT-Sense® can be combined with VAF fuel consumption flow meters. Moreover, the TT-Sense® can be expanded to include energy consumption and propeller shaft analysis, enhancing overall efficiency even further.
